Does sixth sense help managers in decision making process? If yes, how far one can rely on it?

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

We have listened many things about Sixth Sense and also learned that many managers found the signals of their sixth sense on certain occasions. Sixth sense is our inner element that often tells us about what may happen as a consequence of our certain act/s. We can also call it as intuition. Some people consider the signals of this inner element and follow it where as some people do not.

It is the experience of people that they may have felt sorry about ignoring the signals of inner elements. It is inbuilt in every human (not sure about animals) and few have cultivated themselves to hear and understand these signals and some do not prefer to act upon based on the signals.

I am sharing few interesting real life example with you as shared by Shahar Andrade shared with me. A couple of 6th sense situations:

Sahar says:

(1) I woke up one day and told my mother to be aware of my Dad not going down the stairs alone he was in his last months with us but he was still mobile, so she really set guard to make sure he is not alone, till one night really late she felt asleep and he woke up and went down the stairs he tumbled all the stairs and we had to take him to the hospital for 6 stitches in his forehead.

(2) On a business level, we were offered at Astra in Egypt when I was based there a huge project to be a part of an investment project, but the funds would have been released later, In Egyot people trust people on a word of mouth moist of the time, for some reasons I didnt feel good about it and askedthe owner to really deeply research the company and the owner of that comoany, the worst part is that they were referred by very trust worthy people that we did business with for a very long time, to make a long story short, the owner didn’t feel good either and trusted both my and her feelings and that nagging voice, turned out that it was a scam and the people that referred that company ended up loosing thousands and thousands of dollars.

I invite all the readers that they may also share their real life examples of sixth sense from their professional lives. A small example of real life can inspire thousand. So come forward and share you real life examples.
